Someone is smiling in USA during Recession
If we could say someone who is really happy during this financial turmoil, its only one among few, it’s the retail giant Ronald.
McDonald’s corporation has recently announced that its US sales for the month of November shoot up by 4.5% while globally its sales has been increased by 7.7%.
The good news comes at a time when most of the US retailers have reported that low sales figures. So what could be the strategy behind McDonald’s survive and shoot up its sales in this turmoil period?
McDonalds delivers another strong Comparable Sales
US up by 4.5%, Europe up by 7.8%, APAC, Middle East and Africa up by 13.2%.
Now when we tried to find out what could be the reason behind this success, this is what the management team had to say
“Convenient locations, extended hours and quality food at an outstanding value are all the reasons why people are choosing McDonald’s says Jim Skinner, CEO”.Another reason going in the favour of McDonald’s is the company’s retail format (Regular profit margin, cheaply priced products and loyal customer base) which is virtually recession proof.
Their newly introduced coffee menu has been doing phenomenally well too, apart from it the core menu – hamburgers, chicken products, French fries and premium sandwiches account for about 70% of sales.
